Wrestlemania & My CD Release
Wednesday, March 17, 2010, 12:58 AM EST [General]
Hello James Gang,
I hope you all are well. As you all may know if you follow me on twitter @mickiejamesdiva I have been sidelined for a spell. This has been very difficult for me as until this I hadn’t been injured enough to be taken off the road. Especially these last few weeks I’ve been on a roller coaster of sorts. I find that we are modern day gladiators. We risk life and limb every night to the roar of the crowd, to entertain, to feel that fire, to see each of you smile. Although we may be bruised and broken, we lick our wounds and keep going. We are driven by pure passion, raw desire, However we are also very stubborn! We don’t not admit when we are truly hurt,as it shows weakness, something that a warrior can never be.
Then, this is the second time in 2 months that I have ever been sent home from the road, both for the same reason. A Staph Infection, but not just any, as I found out in the hospital it’s MRSA. The first was from the most recent Mexico Tour where I was sent to Tampa to be treated. Then it came back worse than before this last time during the live event Loop in Texas where I was sent home. Then immediately admitted to the hospital in Richmond. To all the WWE universe who came to any of the shows or have watched in the last few weeks to see me. I am truly sorry and please know that I wanted to be there more than anything. Both times I tried to fight it, I fought with the doctors. I fought with my boss.. to just let me work through it, “its just an infection.. No big deal… I’ve worked through worse with a smile on my face” but thankfully for me, they wouldn’t hear of it! I cant express how truly grateful I am that they didn’t listen to me.
I didn’t realize the severity of the infection and how bad it was. When i was admitted into the hospital I went straight into surgery to get the infection out of my body. They also told me I wouldn’t make it to Wrestlemania. I told them they were wrong.. Watch me! When I woke up i was devastated… My leg was in an immobilizer, my knee was sliced open with tubes coming from it t help drain it. As the days passed in the hospital I found out more and more about the infection, about how bad mine truly was. The nurses also explained to me what could have happened if it had gone a little longer untreated. The infection had already gotten into my bloodstream and I was extremely ill.. A few more day meant I could have lost my leg.. Even my life… So I really want to take this moment to say thank you to them all from the bottom of my heart… To our Doctors, the Dr.’s who treated me, and my Boss(who always has to deal with my stubborn ways..haha)! It is because of you that I am getting better everyday, That I am able to write this, that I have my leg, that I have my life, I love you, God Bless You!
As I sit at home watching the road to wrestlemania… It must admit It’s not easy. In fact its one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do. But it’s given me a lot of time to think.. To reflect about life, what I want, what I need, where I’m going, and how to get there. However it has also built my drive even more than ever before! Anyone who truly knows me and the type of person I am and knows that I want it all! I want to make history! I want to go down as one of the Greatest Female Entertainers of all time! I have and will continue to give my all. To make the sacrifices.. To be the absolute best I can be every single night whether it be in the ring or anywhere else. That is my promise to you!
Sometimes life throws you curve balls. Some we cant even begin to understand. I truly believe in my heart of hearts that everything really happens for a reason. It’s no secret that this last year and a half I’ve been burning the candle at both ends and the middle… Giving my everything to the WWE universe every night I can. Then working on my upcoming album that was set to release March 23rd in my time off. As i’ve reflected I’ve come to the conclusion that perhaps this is God’s way of telling me to slow down. A lot of things are happening simultaneously and I’ve been carrying a lot on my shoulders. All I truly wanted was for them both to be perfect, beautiful, and magical in their own light. I’ve never had anything handed to me on a silver platter nor would I want it to be. I work hard for everything and thats what keeps me humble and true to me… That make me who I am… However It just could be to much for any one person.
With that said I have come to the decision to push back the release of my album “Strangers & Angels” to mid May… After Wrestlemania, after the draft, after the tours… My main focus now, as it should be, is to get myself 150% for Wrestlemania first and foremost… Wrestlemania is the grandest stage of them all for anyone who’s ever stepped in the squared circle.. who’s dreamed of stepping out that curtain knows that Wrestlemania is the end all be all. There is no grander stage.. And then Commence to making even more history! It killed me to make this decision but I believe its best all the way around. I haven’t been able to promote it the way it needs to be leading to the release because of the sideline. By holding out I know I can put the proper energy and truly push my project the way it needs to be.
To all those who already pre-ordered your orders stand and I promise you will not be disappointed… I’m also extending the special pre-order sale with the limited edition t-shirt and signed CD until the beginning of may. You can order now until then at my page on Country Showcase www.countryshowcase.com/artists/mickie_j… We are also working on getting uploaded to amazon.com, I-Tunes, CD Baby, & so on… So I know you all will be able to get it across the globe. Please follow my country music ambitions on www.mickiejames.com as well as my twitter @mickiejamesdiva My Nashville Team & I are working on pushing my current single “Are You With Me” to country radio everywhere and getting it added to their current rotation so please request away. I want and need you guys beside me all the way on this. Thank you all… I love you all… 2010 James Gang is in to win! I will see you at Wrestlemania! Oh I almost forgot to mention… You all are invited to a huge fan party at Jimmy Buffets friday 8-10pm in Phoenix where I will perform a special selection from my album… I cant wait to see you all there…
Yours Truly

Mickie James out with staph infection
WWE Diva Mickie James recently underwent two surgeries for a staph infection on her right leg.
“I hate missing work,” said the former Women’s Champion.
Mickie is recuperating at home now with daily antibiotics.
“I’ve been on an emotional roller coaster,” she said. “I have no control of anything. At least with an injury you know for sure how long it is going to take.”
Stay with WWE.com for updates on James’ condition.

WWE Diva Mickie James goes country

For more than a year, World Wrestling Entertainment diva Mickie James has spent her off days preparing her debut music album Strangers & Angels.
The hard work is starting to show for the determined entertainer as her first single Are You With Me? is receiving airplay on country radio in a number of markets after its Feb. 16 release.
The multi-time women’s champion shows the same passion for music as she does wrestling.
A Richmond, Va. native, Mickie James, the wrestler, is an extension of who she is, just turned up a few notches. Mickie James, the country artist, is a side fans have never seen.
“I feel like it gives a different part of me and a part of my soul,” said James, who recently had her first live performance at the Wildhorse Saloon in Nashville. She took the same stage as big name acts Rascal Flatts, Kellie Pickler and Little Big Town.
Days later, she sang a few songs for a charity event for diabetes awareness during Country Radio Seminar Week.
“In the ring, fans see this kick-butt girl who is full of energy and full of life, someone who is ready to kick butt and take names,” she said. “This is like a whole other side of me that fans and people in general necessarily wouldn’t know.
“I am grateful to have this opportunity. I was Blessed to work with the best people from my manager, publicist and my producer, who is amazing. Everyone has been very loving and nurturing, which is great because I’m very new to this. We poured a lot of love into it. So hopefully it comes across that way.”
Traveling around the world, the WWE diva always enjoyed writing poetry, short stories or whatever random thoughts came to mind. Driving to the gym one day, song lyrics filled her head. She pulled over and wrote a song in five minutes. This was the start of her voyage into country music.
James, 30, is following in a similar path like John Cena, Chris Jericho and Lillian Garcia who parlayed their wrestling/sports entertainment success into the music industry.

Mickie James, who’s country music CD is set to be released shortly, underwent surgergical procedures Monday and earlier in an attempt to clear out a bad staph infection.
I haven’t heard exactly where the infection is located but it was bad enough that doctors advised James to undergo surgery and she followed up with another procedure.
There is no timetable for her return to the ring.

Mickie James Embarks On Country Music Career
WWE Wrestling Diva Mickie James Embarks On Country Music Career
What is the next step for a WWE superstar diva that’s pretty much won—and done—it all? Well, for six-time champ Mickie James, the answer would be country music, of course.
When she’s not giving her opponent a signature “Long Kiss Goodnight” (a reverse roundhouse kick to the skull), James is writing songs and singing. Her first single “Are You With Me?” was released to radio on February 16.
The 9513 sat down with James at CRS to talk about her music, becoming an artist, and about which female country star could give her trouble in the ring.
PIERCE GREENBERG: I’ve got to start it off with this one: What are some of the similarities between professional wrestling and country music?
MICKIE JAMES: I think the energy from the fans and from the crowd—you feed off of that and the performance. I’m performer and an entertainer, so you have to be able to perform. It’s a lot pressure to perform live in front of an audience, because you get one chance to mess up or get it right. You either nail it out of the park or drop the ball kind of deal. That’s a lot of pressure so you have to have a strong will in order to do that.
